Introduction

Were you ever surprised by the decisions you’ve made in life? I know I have. Over the years I’ve been searching for answers, trying to understand the forces that shape the way we think, decide, and act. And, more importantly, how we can be better - ourselves, and the society at large.

In this blog post I’m excited to share five books that have had a profound impact on how I see myself and the world around me. These books aren’t just insightful—they’re transformative. They’ve challenged my assumptions, sharpened my thinking, and inspired me to look at the world through a new lens.

Let's dive into these thought-provoking reads, starting with a true classic that revolutionized our understanding of human judgment and decision-making.

**Thinking, Fast and Slow** (published on October 25, 2011)

by Daniel Kahneman

An Israeli-American psychologist best known for his work on the psychology of judgment and decision-making as well as behavioral economics, for which he was awarded the 2002 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economic Sciences together with Vernon L. Smith. He’s also known as the "grandfather of behavioral economics."

This is the oldest book in the list of 5 books I’m recommending here, and it’s considered a classic at this point.
